very short trip to the other side of bali

bali is more likely famous for its beaches.. and i have several times gone there to shoot my programme, in kuta, sanur, tanjung benoa and tulamben. but this time i didn't go to the beach at all.

last weekend i got invited by bali safari to watch theatre show called "bali agung - the legend of balinese goddesses". the show itself was friggin awesome. it involved 150 people/dancers, 40 puppets and more than 30 animals, including ten elephants (!!). i can't show you the pictures right now, but i promise you i will give you a link to a complete cover of my journey on the online version of my magazine when it's ready.

i spent the night at mara river - bali safari lodge, gianyar, where in the morning, when i open the window in my room, there was a rhino in the yard. there was even zebra and wildebeest. i felt like i was in madagascar!

can you imagine this view in your backyard?

i also had dinner in tsavo lion restaurant where you can see lion outside but i was unlucky the lion maybe was sleeping and didn't show up. too bad :(. there was an ostrich, though.

with lucy the parrot

the next day, me and other media fellows had trip to three pura (hindunese temple) in kintamani, as a trace back on the journey of king jaya pangus. even though i'm not a hindu, but i always love to see other religion ceremony. and i was lucky there was a full moon ceremony going. and i love how all people there were so nice to us, they were not disturbed by our presence even though they were having their prayers. they even welcome me as non-hindu to pray there, saying "no matter what religion you are, we're all have one purpose, the divine god."

hey i got splashed by holy water!

with other media fellows.

we have to use sarong and some kind of fabric as belt if we go to pura.

it's a very short trip but fun, and it's a late post because i immediately got busy soon after i arrived in jakarta. well bali, see you soon :)

  7. I went to Bali park back in August, it was actually a really good alternatives to visit Bali. I got on the shuttle to go around the park and our shuttle's tire was clawed by the lion. it was scary as they told us it had never happened before. But it was a fun place after all :)
